3rd largest sport in the WORLD! The field hockey field measures 100yd x 60yd. Divided into 4 - 25yd lines and 2 - 16yd shooting circles. 11 players are on the field per side and the games is played similar to soccer with less contact. Equipment used: hockey ball, hockey stick, shinguards, mouth guard, goggles (only at the US high school level)

Across the nation, 279 colleges and universities have NCAA women’s field hockey programs, made up of 79 Division I, 33 Division 2, and 167 Division 3 teams. Over 65,000 high school student athletes play field hockey across 23 states, with thousands more playing in U12 (under 12) youth camps and leagues, college club, and adult leagues as well. Also, unknown to most, there are many scholarship and playing opportunities for field hockey players at the college level.
